Andyj Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Having only returned to the scene(admittedly only the revivalist bit)I've found loads of new stuff which could now be classed as 'oldies' such as Benny Troy's I Wanna give you tomorrow. What other new oldies classic's are there?
Geeselad Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 A great starting place would be looking at a copy of the Northern soul top 500 book, I'm sure you'll find a host of tunes that have made in since the 'heyday' 1
Mark Jones Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 What other new oldies classic's are there? Don't know where you'd start Andy...list is endless! Get youtubing! 1
Andyj Posted June 7, 2013 Author Posted June 7, 2013 Don't know where you'd start Andy...list is endless! Get youtubing! Already doing that! also have been to Blackpool Tower in November and May and last years Scarborough weekender (my first northern event for 30 years) plus local soul nights, so I've heard loads of new stuff coupled with some stuff on compilation cd's, what I was asking really was for other forum members to list their suggestions of what could now be classed as Classic Oldies in the way we maybe look upon e.g. The Jades or The Superlatives etc from the heyday
Mark Jones Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Loads of Stafford stuff! Tommy Navaro, Melba Moore - magic touch etc etc...go to Chalky's soul underground site!
