I agree why not? You are missing out on some great soul music via cd.

Don't necessarily agree the quality is better but I like to have a hard copy and copy to PC and iPod. Download if that's the only way or if I just want a particular track and not the whole cd.

Yesterday people were criticising a bloke for daring to want to play a vinyl pressing of Ronnie & Robyn and he was told to get a download as it's just as much use.

But apparently people want stuff on cd not download.

Therefore cd's must be preferable to records.

Or something.

Why are people still buying cd's in 2013 !!

I think for some folks, CD's are the last chance of owning a piece of music in a physical form, something you can hold and say "That's Mine". Wheras when (if?) downloads become the only way to get new music, they will become invisible and nothing more than just a file on your computer / phone / Ipodwalkman thingy ... or even just stored on some server God knows where.

I do get downloads occasionally, but only as a means to an end , either to compile a CD or cut a Disc etc.

Cheers

Mick

I do exactly the same as you Chalky.
