That fine gent, Lord Horace of Harboro, has organised a special session in the Modern Soul Room at the Weekender.

This is being staged when Bettye Swann is on live in the main room AND is to get all the prats who just shout to each other in the main room whilst the act is on 'out of the way'. 

There is nothing more rude / distracting than to spoil proceedings for those who do want to watch / listen to the live act (not to say unnerving for the act themselves) than to have so many idiots ignore the main event just coz they only like sounds being played off disc.

SO, if you are one such person, please PISS OFF this year to the room laid aside especially for you.

Then those of us who will mainly be attending the weekender to witness a 'historic' live performance can enjoy ourselves to the full

 

HOWEVER .... if you still intend to stay in the main room but will not be paying attention to Bettye .... PLEASE

Not being funny but we don't don't want em in the modern room ,can u not send em down to the funfair for the night.totaly agree though,nothing worse than when your watching an artist some people can be so disrespectful. By the way whats planned for the modern room for that time

Hi Mark,

 

There will be a Northern hour in the Modern Room whilst Bettye is on.  I know that won't suit everyone but in fairness to Ady he has taken this unusual step because of the appeal of this particualr artist (Bettye) to those of a more "modern" persuasion too.

 

I suppose you could argue that it could be an hour of 70's Northern/modern oldies in an attempt to suit those from either room not into live acts.  There's no detail of who will be DJ'ing then so it's not clear what you'll get.

 

It's only an hour.......

I'll never forget the reaction of a large proportion of the NS contingent at the Terry Callier gig at Trentham Gardens...............

 

But let's not go off topic and stoke up a problem that doesn't exist......

You might be right there,northern ,modern, I don't mind ,as long as anyone who comes in from the northern room don't start laughing at the way we dance we will all get on lovely jubbly
