Pete S Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Please read and digest this - Thanks! Joe, I keep seeing you putting this comment on wants ads but I have read it and don't know what your message means. Am serious, not being a pr*ck.

pikeys dog Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I'm going through wants and altering the titles on any that have little or no information in them... ones that say things such as "Wanted" or "Wants" Just trying to make life easier for other users - perfect example was a want for two Peruvian (or similar) LPs - not many folks on here would have them to sell, so clicking on the ad would have been a waste of time. Having said that, I can see where confusion may arise since I've altered the title when I post the message... I'll change it to this for future postings to read "(Original posters name) please read and digest......"

You'd already corrected the problem by the time we saw your notification. Yes, titles that just say 'want' are very annoying. Always better to have some sort of indication as to what it is they're after (same with sales too). Cheers

While we're on the subject, it is also very annoying when someone puts up a want for something like, say, 'Dena Barnes', and that is the only information they put in the body of their post too. Nobody knows whether they want an issue, or a demo; maybe a bootleg; perhaps they want a legit reissue such as a Grapevine; or whatever. It then takes umpteen further posts to find out what the hell they're after. Or worse still, it wastes the time and effort of genuine people who tried to be helpful by digging out a record, checking condition, play grading it, deciding on a price, then writing a detailed PM. Only to be told something like 'Jesus Christ mate, I can't afford £400, I was only looking to pay a tenner'. Edited May 23, 2013 by Peter Richer 1
pikeys dog Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Topic split to prevent original posters Want from being swamped.
Guest randy Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Joe you need to be a bit more blunt with some of the members on here, they seem to be too idle to put the full artist, tile and label of the record their selling or wanting they must think we are mind readers Then when some one responds they say no I wanted this or that version or nationality etc. I do find it annoying - Keep up the good work
