This is my tribute to some of the greatest musicians ever to record music in Jamaica, I do have literally hundreds of Skatalites tracks but I know that instrumental compilations can be boring so I've whittled this down to 25 or so of the real top top tunes.  The collective of musicians recorded under a bewildering number of names; often the lead soloist would be given credit, other times they would be named after the producer that they recorded for, anyway all of these tracks feature The Skatalites or members of The Skatalites band.  For a great history of the band, here is their Wikipedia page.

I do hope you enjoy this one, the music is simply awesome.

Another interesting compilation.

Just been reading through the Wikipedia article. It says "In fall 1964, Don Drummond's composition, "Man in the Street", entered the Top 10 in the UK."

That's never right - surely . . . . . . . .

No not a chance...the only one of theirs to get anywhere near back in the 60's was Guns Of Navarone.
