Britmusicsoulfan Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Hi everyone, I just picked up a promo on Philips yesterday (but need to clean/grade it, but it will be on offer after) and also have a stock copy the same as the black label that's more blue. Is the promo fairly rare compared to the stocker? I always find the black label if I find it. Is the bluish 60s label a reissue? Cheers!
bri pinch Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 (edited) Not a re-issue, but a later pressing...as it was a big hit, and of course 1967 was the year phillips went from the black to blue label presses..would have thought the demo would be harder to get. Edited May 20, 2013 by bri pinch
Britmusicsoulfan Posted May 20, 2013 Author Posted May 20, 2013 @Bri Pinch, I would have thought the blue label was a later pressing. Can the blue label still be considered an original? I'm pretty excited about the demo! Cheers.
Dave Pinch Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 the blue one can still be classed as original as it was part of the original run in 1967 albeit at the back end and not done a year or two down the line..its rarer than black but wouldnt fetch anymore....nice on white demo tho 1
