"Laugh Now Boy" by Little Al & The Maxidynes on Shell

Possibly.

Sounds quite Tex Mex to me!

Thanks Sean.

Is it a fortune? How many pesos?

No idea Simon.

It does turn up though from time to time, so shouldn't be too many!

Have you heard stuff by Casino Royale on Key-Loc? Very similar sounding.

Cheers

No, any good? Sounds like a James Bond theme tune tribute band!

Yes, it's good stuff alright.

Think, Rocky Roberts & The Airedales on a midtempo fingersnapper! Or a cool sounding Sunny & The Sunliners.

Great version of "Diamonds Are Forever"

Priceless.

Was also issued on Silver Fox 4, as by "Baby Al and the Capps" . They were from North Carolina, which means that any Tex-Mex influence is probably just coincidental!

Hi Tony,

I've got the "Baby Al" 45 as a Silver Fox W/D ("Grab Your Partner").

"Little Al" or "Baby Al" was Al McLaurin who, given his name, sounds more like a Scot than a Spaniard.... but the record was actually a minor hit in.... Spain... of all places... much like the Rocky Roberts I mentioned earlier.

Baby Al then Little Al, probably had a few releases as middle-aged Al and pensioner AL!

Can't remember seeing either on lists, so is it obscure or collected on other scenes?

Funny how they get about, I've got a Greek copy of RR's Durium (Milano) LP with Just Because of You, Got a Thing Going etc on it

Didn't think the Shell release turned up that often, have been looking out for it and only seen a couple in recent times. Has been played lately covered up and think another well known DJ just got hold of one.
