Dayo
Very old and faded but I found this in a box in the loft at the weekend. Quite a few EMI Discs and pressings, but one or two bargains too... Anyone else remember the Wax Machine in Gloucester? If it wasn't a current monster, you could get some wonderful bargains there. I had a demo of the Ballads Can't see your love for 20 pence as I recall, then there was a UK demo of the Prophets not long after the Creation UK issue came out - I think was 50 pence or something. 1 Link to comment Social source share

John Moffatt
What was an average weekly wage in 1973, about £20? Apparently it's now £500, so mulitply these up by 25. Still not bad, some of them, and others have gone the other way. Great stuff :-). Link to comment Social source share
Guest
Love these old lists, they are like a snap shot of what was being played at the time. Link to comment Social source share

Tony Turner
Anyone know that "Poker Face" track? It seems to ring a bell as being a major rarity but I can't recall it offhand...... Ian D Utter tripe, hard to imagine it having been played amongst the gems being discovered at the time! Link to comment Social source share
Ian Dewhirst
and another... Just had a listen to a track - sounds like Incredible Bongo Band with added Moog! That doesn't surprise me. I may have heard about it elsewhere thinking about it. Sounds like the sort of thing the Cosmic Disco mob would like.... Ian D Link to comment Social source share
Dave2
Wonderful. To me, this is a bit of soul archive. Wigan Casino probably not yet open - no mention of the list. 'Decimalisation' 2 years previous, package and posting 5 pence...! There's a Richard Selwood thread on here circa 2007 re:Jerry Williams - If You Ask Me. Could the Jerry Williams "Stu-pendous" reference a mate/ dj called Stuart/ Stewart? Who's he then? Maybe not - just the way it's typed it on the list. Seems Cheltenham & Gloucester was a pioneering area of Northern Soul for the midlands. And this list proves it! 1 Link to comment Social source share
