2. Where Would You Be - TENISON STEPHENS (Chess)........Mint-......produced by James Mack, this classy, mid-tempo finger-clicker has plenty to like about it if you're a fan of The Radiants who cut some great Northern-style dancers for Chess around the same time, 1966-68.........£20

Pin Point It Down - THE FANTASTIC FOUR (Soul).......VG++.....very decent Motown Northern dancer (of which there are many, still to be given the acclaim they rightly deserve) that any DJ with an ear for the good stuff and eye for a bargain wouldn't hesitate to spin...............................£25

4. Yum Yum Tree - BOBBY BLAND (Duke)...........Mint-.......still only mere Bobby Bland, in the UK he'd have been Sir Bobby by now with great dancers like this long-time crowd-pleaser to his name. Absolutely magnificent and proper Northern ammo at a proper northern price............£20

5. I Can't Make It Any More - FRESH AIR (GRT).....this is the Spyder Turner MGM classic done by an obviously blue-eyed pop group. You wouldn't go mad for it but it's well-rare and stands out as an "hey have you heard this" novelty and it does have a Northern Soul arrangement to it..........£40

6. I'm In Love With You - BOBBY PATTERSON (UK Action)........Mint-...........a really bright and happy dancer this, which can't fail to please those intent on enjoying their night out.........£100

7. I Finally Got Wise - BILLY KEEN (Galaxy).....Mint-..........Top Quality Northern Soul worth pushing the boat out for, let them cameras shine down on THIS, eh?...........£180

There are so many great variations, some can be expensively brilliant and therefore untouchable or. like this, much, much cheaper yet still as tremendous with a quality you can't deny. If you love The Impressions, this is one for you, cool and stylish and extremely play-worthy on a Sat'day neet..........£20
