Mark B Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 (edited) You buy an original for £10.00 then, it is pretty hard on the red and black lovelite label even the grapevine copies go for £15.00 issue £20.00 demo Edited May 6, 2013 by mark.b
Chalky Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 bull shit nev its a ten pound rec and you no it.no morals, just down to buisness agen mind boggles... I wouldn't say it is a ten quid record, might have been once upon a time but I wouldn't say it was a £120 record either. It's ok Nev posting one odd sale from popsike but the rest seem to be between 40 and 80 dollars with one at $130ish. 1
NEV Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 bull shit nev its a ten pound rec and you no it.no morals, just down to buisness agen mind boggles... Lol ..john ,you been down the club mate Eddie Parker was never a £8k record but it is now and I bet a weeks wages that the next time you see a Larry Clinton it's a £6k record ! That aside ,posting comments about overpriced records on a sales post could jeopardise the sale and just like manships auction prices ,if the guy buying is happy to pay ,where's the problem ? 1

The problem is if a record has a certain value, most do as well, and someone pays over the odds then other dealers take that as the now rather than offer what is considered to be a fair and honest price. It seems to me that these days certain collectors are willing to pay whatever it takes and many sellers are just getting greedier. The market is getting more and more distorted every week. 4

But where do we draw the line ? I lock my posts ,but if I was that way inclined I could sit here and post up links to cheaper copies than a lot of sales on here . That IMHO would be out of order and so is making comments on sales . We are all grown ups ,spending our own money ,so why interfere with a sale . It's getting to the point where we will have a select committee ,where a seller has to ask for a valuation and get clearance to post up an acceptable priced record ! Crazy world of northern soul
Chalky Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Who has interfered with a sale? The record was sold before any comments were made. 1
Pete S Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Who has interfered with a sale? The record was sold before any comments were made. Exactly. But it's £60 tops. I've got a vg+ one for £30 if any takers. Crackles a bit in one channel. 2
Swifty Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Exactly. But it's £60 tops. I've got a vg+ one for £30 if any takers. Crackles a bit in one channel. Well I'm deaf in one ear so shouldn't be a problem , depending which way I sit I suppose But agreed not a £120 record , or is it ??? Swifty 1

Jim Ohara Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Who has interfered with a sale? The record was sold before any comments were made. Thanks Chalky The record was indeed sold and I commented that its too fuckin expensive - end off!!! I really don't want to piss a seller or a buyer off, but you know what this is a forum and my comment is bloody justified By the consensus of the replies, all people agree I was just the one that commented what everyone else was thinking - I stand by that - for you who don't like to comment, go read your Woman's Own magazine!!! 1

Tezza Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Things are worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If it goes for £300 then so be it. Problem then is that this will then become the Bench Mark
