dthedrug Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 HI ALL.. When IAN L compiled the SOLID SOUL SENSATIONS PYE LP, I set myself the task of getting all the titles on 45, the rarest to find was JACK MONTGOMARY. Why any of the releases should fetch more than the JM does not make sense to me as they are all worth getting, but not at inflated prices of this latest sale DAVE K
Louise Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Yep! and a record that's made more comebacks than George Best How many's that now that have gone through e-bay since Christmas Dave
tosspot Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Glad i bought mine yrs ago from soul sam at bretby, mind you he skanked £65 off me for it, i offered him £50, but he wouldn't move
Quinvy Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 It always fetches good money when I see it for sale. Especially if it hasn't got the dreaded cue burn on the intro. 1
Solution macca Posted May 3, 2013 Solution Posted May 3, 2013 So Jack Montgomery's Do You Believe It/Dearly Beloved was a hard one years ago then? They seem to be quite common today.
Dave Pinch Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 (edited) So Jack Montgomery's Do You Believe It/Dearly Beloved was a hard one years ago then? They seem to be quite common today. jack montgomery on scepter should only be £100..theres one up for sale everyday £500 for a clean copy of masqueraders imo Edited May 5, 2013 by dave pinch
Chalky Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Masqueraders DYLMB cost me a quid in about 88....it was knackered though 1
MrsWoodsrules Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Great record, I first heard/knew about DYLMB at Wigan I think, was it a pre-Wigan spin? Aid.
Chris L Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 jack montgomery on scepter should only be £100..theres one up for sale everyday £500 for a clean copy of masqueraders imoWas looking through Kev Roberts Top 500 this morning, dated 2003, he priced Jack Montgomery at £150.00, you can still find a decent copy at this price(ish) today.
KevH Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Great record, I first heard/knew about DYLMB at Wigan I think, was it a pre-Wigan spin? Aid.I'm tempted to say a mecca spin, that's the period i heard it from. But lots of records crossed to other venues. 1
Chalky Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I'm tempted to say a mecca spin, that's the period i heard it from. But lots of records crossed to other venues.Sure I've seen it referenced before Wigan, either playlist, sales list etc. 2
Jim G Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 (edited) Given it is on the Solid Souls Sensations LP put together by Ian Levine it would suggest this was a Mecca spin first . In fact I don't remember it at Wigan between 73 and 76 Edited October 30, 2015 by jim g 1
