boba Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Hi. I have three questions about edward hamilton and the arabians 45s: 1. has anyone ever seen "please take a chance on me" on Lanrod 1606? I've only ever seen the record on LeMans. Does anyone have a scan? 2. I assume Jack Harris and the Arabians on Witch is a Detroit group (obviously on a Chicago label) because it's Jackie Harris. Does anyone have more details about whether this is the Edward Hamilton Arabians? 3. I know that the Arabians "I'm gonna love you" is a different recording to Edward Hamilton / Edward Hamilton and the Fifes "I'm gonna love you". But has anyone compared the recordings to see if the group sounds the same? thanks in advance.
Tony Smith Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 1. Never seen it on Lanrod 2. Thought that was an earlier 50's Detroit record unrelated 3. Same recordings, different mix (this has been debated for a long time)
boba Posted April 29, 2013 Author Posted April 29, 2013 thanks for responding. the witch 45 is early 60s. it might not have a group though, i have to listen. in response to #3, is it possible that they reused the track for the fifes or arabians but the group is different on the other side? does the group sound the same on the flip of the fifes 45? thanks in advance.
