Once lent some records to a (so called) mate, back in the 90's.

When I got them back five had turned into pressings

This happened to someone I know very well, lent a Mel Brit out (in a box full), when box came back, the Fip was an obvious pressing.

Said person had to make threats (which he would have happily carried out), he got the equivilent in cash in the end, excuse being, someone else had swapped it out.

Some people are lower than a snakes belly.

Aid.

Al was full of 'em.

"You can get much farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone." being one of my favourites.

Closely followed by "Capitalism is the legitimate racket of the ruling class"

Just googled and found a few - how about this one?

"I don't even know what street Canada is on" - Al Capone.

My brother lent a so called friend at that time his record box, which included a few of my records, ie. Cashing In (VOEH), Momma's Gone (Little Johnny Blair). He kept asking for them back, but the guy kept making excuses. That was in the early 80's. This guy was DJaying at a Cleethorpes bash, and put VOEH on. I went up to the deck, and being only young when I bought the record I had put Karen on it, sure enough he was playing MY record. I asked for it back but was basically told to **** off. That was a few years ago now, he's probably sold them all now and due to this asshole having some dodgy mates, there is probably not a lot I can do about it now. However, I will reveal his name, Smucker Smith from Grimsby. Whatever you do, don't lend anything to this guy, he's NOT a true soulie, as real soulies don't rip their mates off.

DEMO

1978 brought it at the Casino for £20

After 4 years of getting my ear bent, I was hounded and pleaded with by a mate of mine from Aldershot, please please please can I buy it off you, eventually I gave in — OK I said on one condition “What says the guy” if ever you sell it you sell it back to me for the same amount I charged you, and give me first offer “Yes says the guy”

So I kind of sold it lent it for what I paid for it £20 ?? - years go past as they do, and I bump into another guy from the same area about 6 years ago — tenderly making enquires, about hows everyone doing, etc his name crops up, “O has he still got his record collection” “No” comes the reply he sold that years ago.

Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh friends who needs them
