I'm not sure if you've heard this elsewhere, but one of my favourite Southern Soul writers / vocalists & also a true friend

passed last Sunday April 21st.

Here's a message I've just received from friend and co-writer with George, Mr Richard Kuebler

 

'Bob
George Jackson died Sunday (April 21st)
I was out of town.
Funeral is in Jackson Saturday.
Gathering at MALACO afterwards.
I am in FL and just found out.
The family asked me to be a pall bearer .
I am overwhelmed !'

 

I'm really gutted and immensley sad, I was planning to go back to Malaco at some point next

year and hopefully hook up with George.

 

I hope he didn't suffer too much, I know he'd been ill for some time.He's a superb writer and

 will be immensley missed in the Soul Music world. TTo me he was an immense talent.

 

My consolences and thoughta go out to his remaining family.
