Anyone know what happened to Louie from Runcorn , always had a nice small collection at Wigan , used to DJ in M's before the nighters started , think he may have got into rock music , as he told me he was selling up and only keeping Eddie Parker on Awake !! Also Gis [ Southwark? ] from Preston , was only a young guy at Stafford , but with great taste ,have some brilliant tapes he did me in the 80's. Hope someone knows ,Best ,Eddie

Hi Eddie,

Great guys both of them.

Giz did dissapear for a long while, as did we all in the 90's, believe he has appeared at a few things over recent years but I go out very rarely too so our paths are very unlikely to cross, pretty sure he was at the Stafford reunion though.Think he still has records, he always had good taste, but as Salmon says he was very lucky, like myself to be around the Preston/Bolton crowd whose taste were second to none.

Seen Louie relatively recently (syl johnson maybe??), think he says he doesnt go out much either, pretty sure he says he still goes to Wilton and also think he will be at Cleethorpes (you may find him sleeping under a caravan :D:D ) though . great guy.He did post on here once, where art thou now Louie!!

Cheers

Jock

Mmmm..........there seems to be a slight bit of confusion here! Hope this helps.

There are in fact 2 of us called Louie/Louis. Think I've been introduced to the guy from Runcorn (Louie) as my nickname is also Louis (real name used monday to friday is John Lewis!) I'm originally from Near Leeds, but moved to Preston when I was 5. Always Knocked about with Kellet, Gis, Stan, Shentz, Molloy etc. AKA Preston Cyberman (Stafford).

I have been living in Westhoughton for 25 years, but most people think of me as Louis from Preston.

Gis is alive and kicking doing some work with Lancaster University, Geology and still has his records, especially the one I want off him..."Wait for me", Brown bombers and soul partners!

So to sum up Jock and Kirsty were talking about me (Mick nipped Violet to make her cry!!!) and Eddie and salmon were talking about the other Louie. I have never DJ'd at Mr.M's (although have Dj'd at the Hacienda!) or Knocked about with Hovis (although did Knock off a small Hovis loaf from the corner shop once.)

The Louis from Preston

Just come across this forum and the messages from 5 years ago. Yes, this is Gis from Preston who is still around and still buying (the odd) records now and then. Still have my collection but came clasoe a couple of times to selling when the financial situation in the Southworth household was wasn't all it should be (I blame the kids - another reason for my apparent non-appearances). I've been in touch with Salmon, Stuart R, Molly and Eddie B quite recently on FaceTwitter (or whatever it's called) which was great to know they are all well. I'll try and keep up with this forum now and hope to come across some more old friends.

I've posted something on a similiar thread a couple of weeks ago.

Lewi from Runcorn was Colin Lewis and he lived in Cedar Avenue in Runcorn. His record sleeves were always stamped Lewi Northern Soul Keep the Faith.

Don't ask how I know his address.

Hi Denny, see you in Spain.

hi, just to let you know about the sad demise about lewi (runcorn), i spoke to rod looker on fri night last week about what happened to him, he told me in the late eighties he had a lot of problems mental and other stuff , he also spent some time in warrington mental hospital , he used to stay at rods for the odd weekend ,on a weekend visit to his mums he went missing from her house , never to be seen again , after so many years about 2000 he was offically missing declared dead , his mum and dad were devastated , after a few years his mum and dad died , he also told me about original eddie parker "im gone" and that he did did get the record framed, on the small plaque under the record it said - "soul and some " it was on the living room wall in his mums for some years after he went missing , rod has not got a clue what happened to the record , he thinks it might have been binned by lewies mum and dads relatives , rod is on here but i dont know what name he is using , Eddy

Hi I would just like to set the recoard straight this is Alison, Colins cousin. Our Colin did go missing in 1988 we have missed him everyday since, Colins mum is still ALIVE and now aged 82 and I know she still waits for his return and has always believed he would come back one day. If anyone has got any information about Colin Lewis from Ceader Avenue, Runcorn his family would gratefully appreciate any help. My sister Sandra and Colin were very close growing up and I know she greatly misses him, as we all do. I have two boys and Sandra has two girls and we feel like they have missed out on a fabulous Uncle.

What a sad story. I'm sorry to have learned of you and your families loss. I hope he surprises everyone and walks through a door someday.
