Theothertosspot Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Just buy the soulful twins, its the same backing track I say buy loosely, Johnny Fingers got £3 on it at a niter near Leeds a few years back. I um'ed and arr'ed for a while, only for him to give it me, job done. Regards
Markw Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Went for $338. Might not be a bad punt in the end at that price, never know.
Popular Post Kev Cane Posted April 24, 2013 Popular Post Posted April 24, 2013 Just buy the soulful twins, its the same backing track Soulful Twins is good, but Magnetics harmonies and delivery take the thing to another level that very few records get to, Group Soul perfection IMHO Kev 4
tosspot Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 I say buy loosely, Johnny Fingers got £3 on it at a niter near Leeds a few years back. NEV Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Went for $338. Might not be a bad punt in the end at that price, never know. Them scans and that description " looks like it picked a fight with a mountain lion and lost " ,kinda make that sound like it would take a miracle for that to be a play copy !
Manfromsoul45s Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Them scans and that description " looks like it picked a fight with a mountain lion and lost " ,kinda make that sound like it would take a miracle for that to be a play copy ! $300 to have that framed in ya record room could sound worse?
NEV Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 $300 to have that framed in ya record room could sound worse? That would make you a trophy hunter type collector though .... why not just collect mooses heads
Manfromsoul45s Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 That would make you a trophy hunter type collector though .... why not just collect mooses heads Who says I don't... 2
NEV Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Who says I don't... No one ,but they're a lot harder to catch than the banana splits
Manfromsoul45s Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Hey Banana Splits, Now that was a programme..
boba Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 if the winner sends it to me, I'd try just for the hell of it. would cost $200 if I get it to play listenably at all, free if it doesn't. it would take at least 5-6 hours of messing with it.
sepia Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 so many sellers say not play graded. is there no record players in the states these days, lol. if they didnt play it,for all they know it could play ex & would get a better price(but more chance ex standing for ex playable record, lol). so i bet was played but trashed.say nothing, they get some money & they covered there backs by saying doubt will play through. funny where this 45 turns up.werent 3 copies found inside a drawer of a cabinet, bought by a furniture dealer in the states or was that magnetics feat lee mckinney / ill keep holding on.if wrong i was close with the magnetics, lol.
boba Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 not a furniture dealer, a thrift / junk dude who bought a storage locker
boba Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 also how is the seller covering their back by saying they doubt it will play through? if anything they're being honest and the desperation of the buyer comes into play.
sepia Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 im just saying ifs & buts here boba. was only saying that if they had played it & found it didnt play. they cant be totaly honest as they dont know if it will play or not.ive had some records in my time that look trashed, but played ok.to say prob wont play is the buyers risk & says sold as found. says not an expert.dosnt take an expert to find a deck, put needle on record & listen(unless he deaf, lol). as they say, rare record. if i was selling it,i would try to see how it played first.would benifit seller & buyer.more bids if did play through & more money for them.
Theothertosspot Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 um, arr, i was with you & i think you "borrowed a fiver off me for it, was it cica '98? Never borrowed a fiver as I recall, drove you there mind, also bought Carol Chandler on Steeltown on the same night. Seem to recall a young lady that took everyone's fancy when she hit the lower dance-floor (bet you do too). 1
