I have a late 60's blaxploitation movie(can't remember the title off hand), and she sings the title song. Thanks for that! Been driving me nuts.....! -Mike

Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Tone will have to help me out on the connections but there are: The Latimores The Ingrams The Sylvers - Foster Sylvers - Misdemeanour....takes me back Brixton '87 and weren't Levert sons of the O'Jays? I could be wrong on all of the above Jo Hi again Jo, No family ties that I'm aware of on the Lattimore/Latimore front, but yes, Levert are all related to Eddie as they're his two sons and their cousin Marc Gordon (no relation to the other Marc Gordon who produced lots of great 60s Northern sides and who was married to Florence LaRue of the Invincibles/Fifth Dimension. James Ingram is not related to the Ingram family who did DJ's Delight and "Smoothin' Groovin' - although, confusingly, one of those Ingram brothers is also called James! TONE
Guest musicden786 Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 we all know about Jimmy & David Ruffin, Brenda & Patrice but who else can you name? any real obscure ones that would surprise a few? The only way i remembered the O'Jay connection is that the O'Jays appeared on the same bill as Levert at Hammersmith Odeon in the 8Ts and Eddie said 'these are my boys' - and the O'Jays eclipsed them 100% James Ingram is not related to the Ingram family who did DJ's Delight and "Smoothin' Groovin' - although, confusingly, one of those Ingram brothers is also called James! Shocking....it shouldn't be allowed I think it was James Ingram who was on the recent Funk Brothers Tour....didn't he sing with Patti Austin on the Quincy Jones productions? Thanks Tone for the above info Jo

Guest mel brat Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 (edited) Greg & Jeff PERRY ...and Zach. Also what about the Emotions? and the Jones Girls? (Have we already mentioned Sister Sledge?) Hey, while we're on the subject, what about siblings on the UK Soul scene? There must be lots! Believe it or not, there were TWO sets of near identical twins who used to go to the Cats. One pair were local (Ian & Laurie Smith from Halesowen), the others used to come down from Stoke, but I never knew their names. Also two black sisters from Dudley in the West Midlands used to go to the Birmingham Locarno alldayers and both Tony and Terry Coley, also from Dudley, were avid Detroit collectors - as was their younger brother a few years later!
