Garethx Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 (edited) Tony Do you have the alternate version of Lift This Hurt on Winner already? If not, you severely need that one too, with its amazing deep soul flip, Don't Let This Dream Come True. Edited May 19, 2006 by garethx

Hi Gareth, Yes, I dohave that version - I actually bought it thinking I was getting a further alternate issue of Twinight 150. My disappointment that I wasn't, soon disappeared when I flipped it! I actually saw Elvin Spencer live, on my wedding day! Helen and I got married in Nashville in 1995 and Elvin and Gwen McCrae, when signed to Goldwax, were playing at the city's annual "Summer Lights" music festival. I was getting married at 3:30, Elvin was on at midday or 12:30. Watched his portion of the show (but couldn't stick around for Gwen, just in case), went back to my hotel, changed into my tux and jeans and three hours later I had a loving wife who has been 'lifting my hurt' ever since... MarkH Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Hi Tone, you probably now this already but the "Twinight" version also came out under the name of "Chosen Few" on Bandit records (quite appropriate after your thread on Ivor,s sales post !).Looking forward to hearing you spin at Monumental on saturday. Mark Houghton Hi Mark Yes, I was aware of that but the trouble is, that's even harder to find than a Twinight! I'll happily take a "Chosen Few" if someone's got that to sell instead, but I'm not interested in buying an ES Cozy copy. I've held off on buying it for around 18 years on that label as I know that, the minute I do, the Twinight (or Bandit) will start turning up on everyone and their uncle's record lists... Look forward to seeing you - and anyone else who's coming to MonuMENTAL - on Saturday! I'll try to remember to bring N. Jenkins to play.... TONE
Girthdevon Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 The Twinight CD on Kent still remains a firm fave in this house Tony - any chances of a volume 2 ???? Girf
