Question of the day..... Was all 80's synthesised cack? Or were there some good records as well.....

good philosophical question....I was listening to LJ Johnson's (Levine) track last night-the thing that makes that track, for me, is Johnson's voice-the backing is just that, the backing...Byron Stingily, IMHO, has a brilliant voice-the backing is contemporary..

....perhaps we should be asking IF they have enough 'SOUL'?????

I have always liked Atlantic Starr - Always even if it is soul. There was also Bobby Brown but he become R & B rather then just Soul. Bad thing was when you got Motorcity back together. the new versions not a patch on originals.

Oops must have missed it in the thread!

Off the top of me head i don't have any info on Richard C although i think i have another record by him. I need to check the label etc but can't at the moment - will have a look later
