Prophonics 2029 Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 (edited) You press them down on one side to clip them out as you also slide them. Edited April 14, 2013 by Prophonics 2029
Roburt Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 I've got quite a few of them as well. Quite like em. 1
Premium Stuff Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 I like them - would leave them in as I think they add to the record Presumably inserted around the time the record was made/played? Cheers Richard
Tony Smith Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 I had a few, don't use them with styrene 45 though
Guest I KNOW NOTHING Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 (edited) choose any you want. they are RECORD POWER tools... hehehehe Edited April 14, 2013 by I KNOW NOTHING
boba Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 I started the other thread, someone messaged me about how to remove them, still couldn't do it. I know someone who can instantly remove them but I still can't do it even after watching him.
Greg Belson Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 I've had a bunch of these and they're pretty easy to remove once you've got the technique.....and it's kinda tough to put it into words. There's four 'connector' points to the 45 hole....2 are large, 2 are small on each side of the adapter. Hold the 45 so that there's 2 points on one side, 2 on the other. I usually go for the right hand side........slide the adapter across and simultaneously push down. They should flip straight out.....and you don't need to apply a lot of force. 1

Prophonics 2029 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Remember that you are poping the small edge down as to use the longer legs or flanges as gide's.
Ian Seaman Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 thanks, yes the slide to the side technique works !! 1
dthedrug Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 (edited) HI ALL I used to think that the CHI CENTRE were really rare in the days before the INTERNETT, mine initially all come in OKeh records from the 5ts DAVE K Edited April 15, 2013 by dthedrug
Steve Plumb Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 About 10 years ago, I bought a collection of 1000 US 60's Soul 45's on ebay at a reasonable price all shipped from the US When they arrived, not only were virtually every copy completely shagged, they all had those centres in them too! Still got them in a box somewhere but of no use to man nor beast (but i can't find the heart to chuck them out!) x

Iancsloft Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 There's one in my copy of Mac Staten There she goes Ive left the bugger in looks great .. 1
pikeys dog Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 It's a while since i had to remove one of these, so bear with me... It's tricky but if I remember correctly, you need to slide the centre as far as it will go diagonally in one direction, push down on the short tab, then push the centre in the opposite direction. It should then just pop out. There's a definite knack to it.
Steve Plumb Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 are you saying you have a box of the mental centers or you have a box of the 45s all with metal centers Hi Bob A box full of shagged (VG- minimum) US Soul 45's with the mental metal centres attached
boba Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 whoa i just got one of these out by sliding it and pushing it some way. i scraped up the inside of the label but didn't break the vinyl or anything. hopefully will become an expert soon...
