I Hear a Symphony - Stevie Wonder - Best record EVER made

This Old Heart of Mine - The Isleys

Love Starved Heart of Mine - Marvin Gaye

3 is too little to choose from, it could have been the top 50. How do we choose 3 from the vast array on offer?

Great post. Keep the Motown alive.

You have to include Barbara Randolf as she did more for the Northern cause in the 60s than any other Motown artist. She was also a first class dj and a dedicated collector. She new what our music was all about.

Ask the experts for more details.

My three-

Tata Vega--I Need You Now. (70s Tamla)

Supremes--Back In My Arms Again.

Barbara Randolf--I Got A Feeling.

Best regards to everybody. Denis.

What no Kim Weston? :wicked:

1. Kim Weston - I'm Still Loving You

2. Kim Weston - Helpless

3. The Contours - Just A Little Misunderstanding

All of the above to be let loose on the club members tonight! :shades:

Have to agree with Denis Barbara Randolph's I Got A Feeling is the ultimate Motown NS record for me. Love it by the Four Tops also.

Others are:

My Weakness Is You Edwin Starr

Can't Stop Looking For My Baby The Fantastic Four.

Can never understand how anyone into NS can dismisive of the best of Motown!

KTF.

I've always thought the best Detroit 60s dancer bar none to be "Uptight" by Stevie Wonder - if this was an unreleased Motown acetate, or one of 3 known copies on La Beat or some other minor label, we'd all be going mental for it.

2. Marvin Gaye's "Lonely Lover" or at a stretch his version of "Sunny"

3. Tammi Terrell's "Lone Lonely Town"

All the so-called 'pop' hits weren't too shabby by any stretch of the imagination either!

Me too.

The intro to Uptight still, (30 years later), draws me to a dancefloor. My favourite Motown of all time. And I have a lot of it! For me it ranks as the modern day equivelent, (20th Century anyway), version of Beethoven, Schubert et al at their best). Powerful stuff!

Jamerson - Bom,.... Bom Bom Bom Bom Bom Bom.......Bom Bom Bom Bom Bom Bom...Bom Bom Bom Bom Bom Bom.............simplicity itself.......but fantastic!

Dave
