Guest Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Insensitive sod! Sorry John, only saw your post after put mine on. Yours did not make me laugh, well not until after I'd done a 'ouch, bet that hurts' face and even then it was just a nervous and sympathetic little giggle :-)
Iancsloft Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 (edited) Phil,s never been the same after he starred in League of Gentlemen as Papa Lazarou LOL Edited April 15, 2013 by IANCSLOFT
Quinvy Posted April 16, 2013 Author Posted April 16, 2013 Phil,s never been the same after he starred in League of Gentlemen as Papa Lazarou LOL What's the matter Ian, I was hoping you were going to tell me what all Cliff's records were. After all they are all played out oldies that you and Chalky have known about for years.
Quinvy Posted April 16, 2013 Author Posted April 16, 2013 F**k me, the best line yet! Can I buy your Diane Lewis and your Just Brothers. Good comedy and all that. Give up while you are behind. It's absolutely true. And I didn't mean he played them because I had. I apologise if I gave that impression. I meant he was reminded of how good they were when he was at Burnley, so he dug them out of his collection and played them. Even the greatest can be inspired by the plebs. Every time I have asked Butch about records from the past that I had never heard, he has always dug them out and played them next time I have seen him. A true proffessional who isn't affected by all the politics on the scene.
Guest gordon russell Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Would be nice if folk could name cliffs tunes.......as there all known......save on all the banter.....should be quite easy
Iancsloft Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Cliffs a good mate of mine we have been wheelin and dealin together over 25 yrs he's a top fella and to be truthful I don't think it's right to start talking about what Cliff is playing or has played I know a lot of the stuff he has and I know some of the fan static tunes he's bought over the past few months..... I bet tho he has a copy or has had of the Sir Joe 45 that this thread is about LOL Anyway Cliffs a busy man at the moment helping his mate rat catchin lol
Corbett80 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Is there a sound file anywhere? I'll probably love that seeing as you hate it. Try on Youtube. I would of thought you'd of had it? For what it's worth I don't hate it it's just average and imho Sir Joe is a lot better. There's loads of similar dull 60's sounds that were made during that period so you'll be spoilt for choice. 1
Chalky Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Soul sounds unlimited Word Called Love is on the Andy Dyson podcast on my site, he played it for ages. 1
Quinvy Posted April 16, 2013 Author Posted April 16, 2013 I think I have made my point. The people that said the stuff played at Burnley was well known have refused my offer of meeting me at the next allnighter and telling me what Cliff's plays are. There was so much jealousy and politics going on in the background it's a wonder it lasted as long as it did. According to the only people that matter to me, the Burnley regulars, it was the best allnighter in the country at the time. Their words not mine. 1
