hi i have for sale frank wilson-do i love you-tmg1170 demo plus unique picture sleeve both in E+ condition. the sleeve is made of quality card and lamanated on the front. purchased the sleeve six months ago never seen before could be a one off still a thing of beauty £200 plus £2.50 p&p as a gift paypal many thanks the phillydog.

ps. the usb stick is there to prevent copying.

Well it's not really a repro, there's a guy on ebay who designs these sleeves and sells them in very limited quantities, I have to say I think his work is fantastic, never bought any myself but they do look great.

He's not trying to sell it as some original picture sleeve, he just says it's a unique picture sleeve to this record, which it is!  The person who made it only does 5 or 6 of every sleeve.  I don't think phillydog is misrepresenting it at all.

You'll soon get fed up of doing them for free, the bloke puts a lot of work into them, right down to laminating them and putting 60's style flip back seams on the reverse.

Am I being thick here, the PS has  nothing to do with the original release, its been done after?

 

SO what value the record and what value the sleeve? Or is there some thought that together they are more valuable?

In my opinion they look great..... Of course they aren't original but that's not the point is it ? Put them alongside original TMG EPs and they don't look out of place such is the quality of the artwork. Whoever owns the license to release Motown product could do a lot worse than getting whoever done the artwork to work with them... ! Beauty is the eye of the beholder indeed...

I feel sorry for the seller here(good luck with the sale mate), all these negative comments from people....it's not cool really is it ? I don't understand why people feel they have to sabotage a sales thread like this... They're clearly not interested in buying are they ?

I have to disagree here Ivor, I think the original post is misleading re the picture sleeve and I genuinely think its wrong to sell them as if a package.

 

I woudn't normally comment on sales but in this case thought it justified.

 

Thats not saying the PS isn't worth something in its own right.
