Soulmanau Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Hi folks Recently I purchased a record with a paper label which had come away from the vinyl. Something was cleanly wrong with the pressing process as the labels are normally attached during the record stamping process. Any ideas on how to refix it? glue? cheers
Premium Stuff Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 What about that 'spray mount' stuff? Would that be safe and sufficiently accurate for the purpose? It's in aerosol form. Richard
Guest The Record Box Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Hi Pete, first put the record centre in and then use pritt, with the centre the label will fit perfectly alligned.
Premium Stuff Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 In my experience (paper sticking generally not record labels) Pritt can be a bit 'lumpy'. That's why I thought of spray mount as it gives a think even layer of adhesive - if you spray it carefully. Never used either on a record label though - so just ignore me Richard
Chalky Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I found one called contact special or something like that, liquid glue, from an art shop. It comes with a brush and you sorta paint it on, nice thin even coat.

Pk 22dj Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Have you tried NO NAILS ?? Just a laugh. Hope you solve your proble.
Premium Stuff Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Have you tried NO NAILS ?? Just a laugh. Hope you solve your proble. Yes, 'no nails' - that's just daft ... try nails!
Soulmanau Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 Fixed - thanks for the help Combined all the ideas - Super glue then a few staples to secure and the nail gun to finish the job - looks great (Seriously white glue - thinly spread to avoid lumps)
