Not getting out of late and missing out on so much, some would say too much with the ammount soul events/ niters/ mini miters/ all dayers...

Let us all know how your Easter experience was????  plus it would be good to get a punters viewpoint and not just the djs/ promoters who seem to make most of the comments each time...

I didn't realise there was anything on this weekend. So far had a great weekend with no soul just chilling and seeing and being with loved ones.

Can only give dj promoter view point as i dj,d at one and promoted another, but had a good weekend.Fri guest  dj,d in bolton local oldies do was packed to the rafters, realy enjoyed it.Sunday ran a new venue with mick lyons at stubbshaw in ashton, with so much on was a bit worried about turnout. The day started slow but they kept comin in and ended up with a very  good turnout and a very enjoyable day.So for me it was a good easter  .

Went up to Norwich on Good Friday ( visiting family ) and went to the Backstreet Soul Club on Friday night. Guest DJ's were Carl Fortnum and Col Wolfe. Bumped into a couple of old mates  so it was a blinding night. Was talking to them in the bar so missed a big chunk of Carl's set but  could hear him stick on Eddie Parker - I'm Gone  and the Tomangoe's. This was a 2 room event and very well attended with many youngsters through the door . Billy Whizz's brother Mick was also dj'ing as was Frank Webster another excellent Norwich DJ ( will be good when he's back on at the 100 Club ) Backstreet is promoted by Mark Chamberlain ( Professor Turnups on here ) who does a fantastic job attracting  some of the UK's best DJ's up to Norwich and it's their 30th Anniversary this year. Was going to go to Crossfire last night but when we got back to London I couldn't tell from the flyer if you could pay on the door and it was too late to book online. Blew it out and watched a superb Nile Rogers documentary on BBC 4.

For me it was up to Scarborough on my Lammy for the Rally.

Saturday night in the 'soul' room was amazing RnB and full on uptempo 'nighter' music

Young mods and us old guys thrashing out the dance floor with not one swirly skirt or patched vest insight

Thank god for the Scooter scene.

Had a great weekend!

Decided to venture out locally for a change on Friday night and went to a venue on my road. Admittedly, 3 miles along my road in the wilds of highest surrey. There was a Soul do on and it ended up like being a Soulboy reunion. Saw tons of people I haven't seen for years and had a great time. Didn't realise there was so much action on my doorstep LOL.

Then up to Manchester for the Ritz Revival which was rocking! Lovely vibe all round, decent numbers and two rooms vibing. Played a 1 hour Northern set upstairs and then a 2 hour Ritz set downstairs. Had a thoroughly great time and brilliant to see so many old mates from across the North.

Also I debuted a couple of the new Tom Moulton remixes which went down a storm. New York City's "I'm Doing Fine Now" got the downstairs room at the Ritz buzzing and then it was pure gravy for the next two hours!

Yep. Great weekend!
