Popular Post sirshambling Posted March 27, 2013 Popular Post Posted March 27, 2013 Good afternoon, Today is the official launch of the Cosimo Code, a new major collaborative internet resource on New Orleans music. Please follow this linkwww.cosimocode.com to go to the site where you can find info, images, links and music connected to Cosimo Matassa, the most important figure in the production and distribution of NOLA soul in the 60s and into the 70s. Please do join the forum to assist in the ongoing project which has been developed by experts John Broven, Davie Gordon and Peter Gibbons, all orchestrated by soul music's Chief Of Detectives, Red Kelly, who has done all the technical "heavy lifting" and has generously offered to host the website. And it's fun as well! Come join the team!-- 1 3
Paul McKay Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I have to say the code you have to submit to register for the forum is impossible!
Amsterdam Russ Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Had a good read through the site earlier - great stuff & well done to all involved! 1
sirshambling Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 I have to say the code you have to submit to register for the forum is impossible! It took me a couple of goes as well - try refreshing the image a couple of times.
sirshambling Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 Thanks guys for your kind words and good wishes. A long way to go but a positive start I think. John. 1
Candiman Posted September 6 Posted September 6 The Cosimo Code website is no more or is, at least, no longer accessible. I guess the hosting bill has not been paid. Red Kelly (RIP) was doing the hosting but he of course passed away (a couple of years ago now!). Anybody any idea how to resurrect the site? It would be a terrible shame for all that research to be lost. John Ridley, John Broven, Davie Gordon, Peter Gibbons, anyone?
Simon T Posted September 6 Posted September 6 (edited) The domain seems to be defunct and available so I doubt it's gonna be revived. It's host also seems to have gone. It was hosted by http://souldetective.com/ https://www.youtube.com/@cosimocode Forum seems to have long gone. Some individual pages can be accessed e.g.JOHN 'SCARFACE' WILLIAMS scarfacex.pdf Edited September 6 by Simon T

Candiman Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Yes, "The Soul Detective" was Red Kelly, who was the host of the Cosimo Code site. He passed away in July 2022 (coincidentally only a few weeks before his passing I had been in an email conversation with him after not being in contact for a few years).

He mentions Peter Hoogers and Annabella. Earlier today I contacted Peter via 45cat message (awaiting reply). I have recently also tried contacting Annabella on another topic but fear she may no longer be around as she went very quiet on 45cat about three years ago (she ran the wonderful "Singing Bones" blog until 2011, sadly missed).

Dr Ray Dj Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Misread that as Casino Code, which is an interesting concept, no drinks on the dance floor etc

Candiman Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Here is just about the most recent home page I could find https://web.archive.org/web/20230929100641/http://cosimocode.com/ and when clicking links it seems to show the most recent capture of each page, which is cool! 1
