Grayman45 Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 (edited) Anyone know what's going on here? Crying Over You for £108. I'm assuming it's not an original, so why the high price. Would I be right to suggest that lookalike issues tend to make more money than completely different labels - for whatever reason? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300877167423?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Edited March 24, 2013 by Grayman45

It is a gold one. When I finally get round to selling mine I'll probably get a fiver if lucky.
Grayman45 Posted March 24, 2013 Author Posted March 24, 2013 To be fair to the seller, he did put 70's press. I would read that as meaning not an original.

Guest The Record Box Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Good for the seller, if the buyer is prepared to pay this price. Ebay always present surprises!! 1
grant Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 definitiely gold 70's boot. remember having one back then
Soul-slider Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Agree with Pete, gold one has great sound quality, a good 70's pressing that is fairly sought after....but not over £100!!!!!
Northern Soul Uk Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 (edited) It's a gold re-press, 70s, last one on eBay sold for £76. Obviously it's because the record is heavily featured in the 'Northern Soul' movie, and folk are buying it because they don't know originals from boots. I have the same copy and was stunned when it went for £76, now I'm even more stunned that it's sold for this price. The world has gone mad. Oh! and yes the gold one is excellent quality. georgeblackwell Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Just checked out the sellers other listings - always comforting to see a few SOUL FOXES for sale !!!! Fair play to the lad though - he is not trying to pass any of these off as originals but like has been said previously it is just that the scene is populated by some right numptys these days. I see he is based in Leicester it's not Johnny M under another pseudonym is it ????

The best of all is styrene 70s issue, looks like the real thing only the run out is much wider. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Duke-Browner-Crying-Over-You-/230952377698?pt=UK_Records&hash=item35c5d59d62 Check this baby out................. https://www.popsike.com/Duke-Browner-Crying-Over-You/221104190986.html
