MrsWoodsrules Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Sometimes, you hear some mad lyrics, and you just have to laugh. Example of one I've just been listening to, BIG DADDY ROGERS, I'M A BIG MAN (MIDAS). 'I'm gonna take you to the woodshed, & drop a couple of planks on you'. Great record, but what's all that about then? Any more, anyone? Just a bit of fun. Aid.
Patto Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 From the Exciters--(Blowing Up My Mind), the classic lyric "It's almost like eating peas by the pound, then wrapping up in adhesive tape from the waist down" 1
Guest in town Mikey Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 There's a button on the left and one on the riiiiight. The one in the middle says we're having bad luck. We're running out of gas and our landing gear is stuck. The Aeroplane song. Arguably the worst record ever played at a Northern Soul allnighter.
Rich B Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 From the Exciters--(Blowing Up My Mind), the classic lyric "It's almost like eating peas by the pound, then wrapping up in adhesive tape from the waist down" Isn' it "Eating beans by the pound" ? and thereby blowing up? 1
Patto Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Isn' it "Eating beans by the pound" ? and thereby blowing up? Could be mate always thought it was Peas but a pound of either would create the same Blow up i think

Great record, but what's all that about then? Any more, anyone? Just a bit of fun. I'm A Big Man is surely a reference to his size in the trouser department! "I'm a big man and I'm hard for my baby", "I got a lot of meat and I'm hard to beat cos I'm a big man" "She's got a sweet tooth and she loves my jelly roll". So he plans on taking her to the woodshed and treating her to a coupla' planksworth of his wood. Aid.

Hello Simsy ,I think if you listen to em again you'll find Joe Douglas sings " Talk soft and shout as loud as I can" .... Whilst Ruby Andrews sings @2.14 "I'm satisfied" then @ 2.18 " So contented". TheBigO Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Not exactly on topic but the best 'eyebrow raising' lyric must come at the end of Jackie Wilsons 'I've Lost You' - comes at the end of the record as song: "I'm gonna kiss you in the morning where the sun don't shine" or at least that's what I've always heard it as. Top man! 1
