Zed1 Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Was Lucky enough to meet Tommy a few years ago and he a signed a few things for us, He was also more than happy to chat about the scene and all things soul. A 'Proper' nice guy and a true legend.
Chalky Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 He used to live near me in Chesterfield. Lives in West Yorkshire doesn't he now? The women who did his biography lives up road from us in Howden.
MrsWoodsrules Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Me like it. I was too young at the time he performed at the Casino, wasn't going until a few years later, my brother always said it was fabulous though. Didn't you just love the way that spark label looked whizzing round on a turntable..... hypnotic. Food for thought. Aid.

I'm a decent sort though - withdraw it from ebay to save yer blushes, pakage it up in some plain brown paper and ship it to me. I'll give yer a quid for it. Peter

O'D Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I've got a compilation L P somewhere in the house, and the inside sleeve is signed by Ian Levine and Colin Curtis. I got it from a friend ( Maybe not ) years ago and I've always wondered if anybody would want it as a gift? I did offer it to another mate of mine who attended Blackpool Mecca in its prime, he told me to F--k off 1

Amsterdam Russ Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 (edited) Heres the pics of my singed Album What a shame that your album was very nearly burned! I also have that LP, but have never met Tommy Hunt. For the purposes of making slightly tenuous connections, I did however meet the keyboard player who backed Tommy at the Wigan Casino. He was later in a band called No Spring Chicken and they used to play in what was then my local pub, The Britannia in London EC1. He was great! Sadly, he was going blind back then, and that was about 20 years ago. This was the same tiny backstreet boozer that Moon Williams played in a few times about seven or eight years ago.
