Since the change over of login system getting a fair few emails from people having probs

does seem that a lot are trying to login with their display name not the user name

difference is

when join you choose a username - this never changes and is what ids your account

you use this to login with

you also choose a display name this can be changed and is what is displayed when posting on the forums do not use this to log in with

hope that clears things up, by all means do get in touch if having login problems , more than happy to help but ask to first check you are using the username not the display name

regarding logins, if you now use the front page login form (in header) to login, you should now be able to use the site wide autologin as well

as said any problems please use the contact us link at top of front page to get in with site

as major site login problems appear solved are now in a postion where can sort out any outstanding problems quick and sharpest ...hopefully

please use the site stuff forum, for reporting any probs

I had problems logging in, found that between Friday and Saturday security/firewall settings had altered to high rather than medium. Once I altered them back again everything was fine. Dunno why they changed though, it coincided with the forum reverting to the skin it has now.

I'm using Internet Explorer and the security settings in there were medium, but Norton Firewall the security settings had altered from medium to high for some reason. Once I moved the slider back all ok.

Im still getting booted out all the time ranting_1.gif

I have to log in each time i enter the site despite clicking the remember me button.

Any ideas why?

Mike/Mick - This is happening to me, too. Have people actually been getting the PM's I've been sending, as nothing's going into my 'sent items' box...

the "save" sent messages is a feature that is turned off by default with the system, we normally switch this on as it is usefull

and will be back on once finished the new skin today

untill then need to manually tick the box underneath the form for now

as said hopefully be only for a few more hours

just been having a look at the cookies set by the site and it seems that the 'remember me' button is not working - the expiry time of the cookies set is only an hour ahead, so it won't keep anyone logged in after that time...
