Hi, this has no doubt been done before so usual apologies but.................

 

Has anyone any recommendations for any (fairly) comtemporary artists/albums?

 

Whos out there currently making decent soul music?

This is good -

 

I knew this track but apparently the whole album is good - was posted up by Tony on the Soul Record of the day thread. Dusty Grooves have some.

Good point Dave, I should have been more specific and said "non retro".

In that case, albums by the following artists are usually a safe bet:

 

Anthony Hamilton

Jill Scott

Erykah Badu

Eric Benet

Will Downing

Maysa

Angie Stone (last one (Rich Girl)  was great!)

Teena Marie (RIP - great posthomous CD - Beautiful)

 

I could go on & on (like Eykah :D )

A lot of shouting about the guy below, It took me a while but I love this track now, its definatly a move on from most R n B lyrically.

Steve,this track turned me onto Erykah Badu a few years back.You can't beat a bit of beat boxing and Erykah... :thumbup:
