Anais nin Carms Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 A very strange intro don't you think .... when it starts you could quite easily if you were playing the first five seconds think ... that's the no pile but how wrong can you be it evolves into a superb sound. Can you think of any others that could fool you into thinking No .. but turn out to be a bloody big YES vote !
boba Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 I think the whole song is a mess actually, in terms of how it's written and changes up. If this were a $10 record I don't think people would have played it at any point. Sweet soul side is killer though. 1
George G Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 The worst intro I've heard on a 'good' record is Stay Together by Soul Excitement. There are several other records on which I skip over the first 20-40 seconds when I play them out - Foreign Blue Renaisance, Manny Corchado, Incomparable Seven "Funky Grandpaw" to name a few.
boba Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 but the "intro" on this song isn't just the intro, it's also the chorus and gets repeated later
Anais nin Carms Posted March 4, 2013 Author Posted March 4, 2013 (edited) I just picked up a Jackie Verdell - Don't set me free , a bit of a groover and the first 20 seconds reminds me of a Benny Hill sort of routine , which is a shame because the rest of it is good sound , great that its at the start because you can skip it. NEV Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 The young hearts - I've got love for my baby . Start off doing the sand dance to a theme from Arabian nights
boba Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 worst intro by far for me (great song though) is Geno Washington "I'll be around". It's like the same guitar string being played over and over again for 20 minutes, like they specifically were trying to see how far they could push annoying. 1
Anais nin Carms Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 I bet this foxed a few when it was first played yeah man
