Guest trickbag Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Darrell Banks' The Lost Soul (Goldmine GSCD 109) is one place you can't go wrong. It contains almost everything Banks recorded, from his hits "Open the Door to Your Heart" and "Somebody, Somewhere (Needs You)" to killer versions of songs like "I Will Fear No Evil" and "I'm the One Who Loves You." Banks simply had a great voice that will make you wish he had recorded more. As far as talent went, there was probably no greater Buffalo soul singer. Darrell Banks considered by many as Soul's finest voice. the tracks make up his singles on Revilot/Cotillion/Volt and albums on Atco/Volt plus some unreleased tracks. this is the first compilation to be issued since he was shot dead in March 1970 by a police officer. this classic compilation with outstanding tracks is a must for any serious Soul collection. a little more info on this great cd. ricky.
John Reed Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Theres different versions of Cotillion tracks of The Love Of My Woman and I Wanna Go Home as it's got a talkie bit at the beginning. Harder You Love is a great previously unreleased floater.
