Orotava Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Hi, Help - I`ve just restarted collecting in the age of the internet, and I`m totally out of touch with what records are realistically worth these days. I`m using ebay for some buys and Soul Source of course, but need to know a certain record`s rough worth to start with. Someone put me onto popsike as a useful website and I look at John Manship but apart from those I don`t know where else to look. Any info gratefully received. Thanks and regards, Pete
Spacehopper Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 i mainly use manship and popsike....manships is normally top price so maybe 2/3rds of that would be average? obviously depending on condition and whether its off a dealer/auction or out of a box on a night out!... popsike is good as it has the dates of the sale so you can see how prices have changed but it is just auctions...as with any auction the price could be cheap but if two people have more money than sense could be way over the top too be honest it just comes with too many hours on a pc and a big wants...after a while you get too know if something is too expensive for you..and thats all that counts
Jnixon Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 thats your lot really. dont need much more than those and here. you can get a rough idea and that is all everyone else does. facebook maybe lots of record selling groups on there
Guest MrC Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 GEMM, Popsike, dustygrooves etc, all worth checking out to see if theres any for sale on there, you should be able to work out an average acroos those and the other sites mentioned. Alternatively, just ask the people on here!
Pete S Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 GEMM, Popsike, dustygrooves etc, all worth checking out to see if theres any for sale on there, you should be able to work out an average acroos those and the other sites mentioned. Alternatively, just ask the people on here! I agree, I rarely if ever sell anything now without finding out if it's been sold on here in the past and how much it sold for. The I undercut that price 99% of times, even if only by a fiver. Go to any main dealers price and knock 40% off, or go to popsike and take the top two or three and the bottom two or three to get an average price. I like Anglo Americans lists for pricing best, I'll always undercut them on everything but they are a good pointer. Of course I'm different to them because they don't NEED to sell whereas as I do...if they don't sell something, they put it back on the shelf and wait for it to come round again due to their huge stocks. Wish I could do that, but no it has to be sold, no use sitting on a shelf... 1
