Sunnysoul Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 So , according to this expert: "Issued as a promo only, never a stock copy (copies with orange & yellow swirl labels are fakes!)" https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/281064889314?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
Chris L Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 So , according to this expert: "Issued as a promo only, never a stock copy (copies with orange & yellow swirl labels are fakes!)" https://www.ebay.com....984.m1438.l2649 Well, somebody paid a pretty penny for it, that's about £200 in old money ? I sold my promo for a lot less But I still have a stock copy Fake Chris..................
Guest Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 (edited) There are Original issues, but they have the proper Capitol machine stamps in the run out grooves. Original issues have the Daisy stamp and what looks like a machine stamped 1 in the runout groove. Edited February 21, 2013 by Guest
Chris L Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Not all the issues are fakes!!! There are Original issues, but they have the proper Capitol machine stamps in the run out grooves. Original issues have the Daisy stamp and what looks like a machine stamped 1 in the runout groove. The early 70's look-a-like issue boots, did not have the stamps! Also boots are big thick vinyl, originals are thinner.

Amsterdam Russ Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 My stamped issue of Jerry Cook has a name scratched into the run out groove. It says PETE SMITH. However, I asked Mr Smith about this ages ago and he denied it was him.
pikeys dog Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I have records with the name Pete Smith stamped on, and it's from a different one - it's a fairly common name
Amsterdam Russ Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 it's from a different one - it's a fairly common name I'd never have guessed that, thanks! Thing is, how many of them are into Northern Soul and how many of those are on here?
Davetay Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I'd never have guessed that, thanks! Thing is, how many of them are into Northern Soul and how many of those are on here? I have come across two others into N.S. over the years.
Chris L Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 This came up a couple of years ago : The originals have the credits text higher, see photos. Good luck !
Pete S Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 It wouldn't have been me because a) I never did that and b) I'm the only person who thinks that record is crap and I'd never have bought it
Pete S Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I have come across two others into N.S. over the years. There were three or possibly four of us at one point but now...not sure 1
