phillyDaveG Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 (edited) OK, I thought I'd start posting up some of the Mighty Three (Gamble/Huff/Bell) label discographies that I did for the Philadelphia International 40th anniversary box set. For those of you who don't have this wonderful 10 CD box set it comes complete with an accompanying high quality glossy 60 page booklet including full vinyl/cd discographies for all 13 Mighty Three owned/financed labels. Including 45s, & LPs (with sequenced track listings). I held back from posting these for a while as a courtesy to Demon/PIR, until the rush for the box set was over. I'm not sure, but I may have posted the North Bay 1 before, but here goes anyway; North Bay singles; Prefixed NB 1970: 300 The Mellow Moods "Tell love hello"/"If you see him" 1971: 301 The Talk Of The Town "Little bit of your lovin"/"Tossin my pride aside" 302 Family "Family affair (Inst.)"/"Nation time (Inst.)" 303 Honey & The Bees "Jing jing a-ling"/"Auld lang syne" 1972: 304 Family "Do the robot (Part 1)"/"Do the robot (Part 2) (Inst.)" *305 Talk Of The Town "Don't be so mean"/"Accept me for what I am" * Releases on the black on white North Bay logo have the title misspelled as "Except me for what I am" 306 Soul Devalents "Grasshopper"/"This is our thing" 307 The Vibrations "Sneakin'"/"When will my turn come" 308 Little Dooley "(It's got to be) Now or never"/"Memories" 309 Executive Suite "I'm a winner now"/"You got the kind of love" 1973: 310 Louise Williams With Isaac Douglas And The New York Community Choir "Don't blame the children"/"Don't blame the children" 311 Love Brothers "Bop de do waw"/"Giddy-up" LPs; Prefixed NB 1971 1001 Gordon Lowe "Follow the sound" ("Follow the sound"/"Give her my love"/"Dawn"/"Jenny's gone"/"Life of a river"/"Round and round"/"So sorry"/"Prisms"/"Turn over darlin'"/"Coming home") 1973: 1002 Louise Williams With Isaac Douglas And The New York Community Choir "Don't blame the children" ("God is love"/"To be young, gifted and black"/"Tobacco road"/"Tradewinds"/"The ghetto (Part I & II)"/"Reach out and touch (somebody's hand)"/"Don't blame the children") PS. If you are going to repost these discogs anywhere, I'd appreciate a mention Edited February 20, 2013 by phillyDaveG 1
Md Records Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Bobby Fulton played me this "unreleased" track that he had produced by Little Dooley called "Memories" a few years ago. i tentatively told him that it had been released (twice) He had no idea it had come out! Des
phillyDaveG Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 That's surprising, the record writer is credited as Bobby Fulton. Prod/arr by Bobby Martin.
Md Records Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 He didn't seem too happy, I think he was angling to get it released, but had "missed the boat" Des
