BTW, the new book follows a similar format to his 1st one.

He reviews lots of tracks that became popular on the 'Beach music scene' after the classic years.

These include efforts by the likes of Barbara Acklin, the Esquires, THE FUTURES, HOT CHOCOLATE, the Poets, Edwin Starr, TOWER of POWER, Robert Knight, WILD CHERRY, ROBERT WINTERS & FALL, Shades of Blue, the Spinners, etc.

Rick Simmons' first book was one of a number of resources for initially informing my forthcoming piece. Was useful for the historical account of a number of artists of interest to the soul scene this side of the Atlantic and initial detective work for tracking my lot down. Really looking forward to reading his new one too.
