well most lyrics are all about love and breakups and finding it hard in life so what record do you listen to the most when you are feeling down, or had a shit day or just feel shit in general.

Matter of interest my rock loving son is 16 and plays the guitar. He will listen to many Soul tunes and comment on the "sad" nature of the lyrics. Perceptive eh?

Don't know about listening to feel better! but me and my first love Jenni split up just before the first Yarmouth weekender. So I did the weekender and have to say it was one of the best times of my life.

Got home to my lonely house and saw my answering machine was flashing.... Could it be her... Just perhaps...no. It was Dean Anderson playing a medley of Buddy Conner, Buddy Smith, or any other song with the title lost love, alone etc? I could hear him giggling in the background.

He did it "to harden me up"... Bas7ard :) :)

Had a break-up several years back now and I used to play 'Gene Stridel - Tomorrow Is Another Day', I felt his pain but it somehow made me feel better! I think it's the realisation that you're not the only one going through it.

Thanks Garry, just solved a mystery, recent thread about the Players touched on Vietnam records, "Does anybody know I,m here" was mentioned, I knew I had it and loved it so went up to dig through all my Dells albums to no avail, left me puzzled, thought I must have loaned it out to someone, mystery solved

Like the guys say it is virtually impossible to resist the laughter

Sam Dees - come back strong

Always lifts my spirits !

the laughing policeman dosent touch me i,m sorry to say, eula cooper however,is very uplifting, for me though the couple that speak to the soul when times are hard are keep on keepin on n f porter, and williams and watson quitter never wins, both songs speak of the need to persevere amidst difficulties , this works for me better than putting on a happy song, if i want something thats guaranteed to have me splitting my sides what does it for me is john cooper clarke health fanatic or evidently chickentown ( the early clips ) on you tube.
