Pete S Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 I really enjoyed putting this one together, seriously, not a bad track here, and volume 2 - which I've already compiled and got ready - is even better than this one. How about that Parliaments track, I can't believe I'd never heard that before, or maybe I'd got it but just never gave it a listen. And Gloria & The T-Airas, wow, not heard that for about 10 years and almost danced round the room when I played it...brilliant track. Will upload the second volume in a day or two. GLORIA & THE T AIRAS — I’M SATISFIED RONNIE FORTE — THAT WAS WHISKEY TALKING FLUFFY FALANA — MY LITTLE COTTAGE THE VOLUMES — I JUST CAN’T HELP MYSELF THE SERVICEMEN — SWEET MAGIC THE VONDELLS — HEY GIRL YOU CHANGED LIVING COLOR — THANK THE LORD FOR LOVE THE SOUL GENTS — WONDERS OF LOVE BOBBY GUITAR WOOD — IT’S MIGHTY NICE TO KNOW DANNY WOODS — YOU HAD ME FOOLED THE MASQUADERS — THAT’S THE SAME THING GENERAL ASSEMBLY — SENSITIVE MIND BETTY TURNER — THE WINDS KEPT LAUGHING THE MASTER FOUR — LOVE FROM THE FAR EAST THE CHECKMATES LTD — KISSIN’ HER AND CRYIN’ FOR YOU THE FABULOUS APOLLAS — THE ONE ALONE SAMMY LEE — WHAT GOES AROUND (COMES AROUND) ROSE ST. JOHN & THE WONDERETTES — MEND MY BROKEN HEART THE CLASSICS — SO GLAD THAT I FOUND YOU BOBBIE SMITH — WALK ON INTO MY HEART RUBY — FEMININE INGENUITY THE MAGICTONES — HOW CAN I FORGET YOU THE PARLIAMENTS — THAT WAS MY GIRL DON GARDNER — IS THIS REALLY LOVE MONIQUE — NEVER LET ME GO KELL OSBOURNE — QUICKSAND BOBBY CALLENDER — MY BABY CHANGES LIKE THE WEATHER GIL BLANDING — RULES JACK MONTGOMERY — DON’T TURN YOUR BACK ON ME https://www.mixcloud.com/mayfairmenthol/the-thinking-mans-northern-oldies/ 1

Don't recognize any of it except maybe the Volumes (from the "I dig your act" line), what a f*cking dancer, and absolutely love the Danny Woods track, awesome mate.
Back Street Blue Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 keep coming back to hear my download of this........keep listening to other stuff......but keep coming back to this.
Zed1 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Fantastic playlist again, Pete... Tracks like these remind of everything that's right with Northern Soul.... and the fact they're rarely played out reminds me of everything that wrong with it. Thanks for posting. 1
