I like pop records, I like soul records, I like pop/soul records, I like all sorts of records but I don't put a colour bar up to stop me liking certain tracks. 1

Wrongcrowd Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I was dancing to it while you and the other stuck in a time warp people were on their "break" Couldn't have put it better.... the fact that this 45 appears as a 'want' 20+ years after Ion played it to those that didn't take a 'break' is testament to how fast new travels, and what a quality tune this is. Hardly like to tick some people's boxes when it's one of those '70's' records played after the Casino closed...but then poor taste has been demonstrated so many times on this site.....

Modernsoulsucks Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Its now in LAYB Kev. I have actually only lost one topic in an attempt to interfere or as I like to call it "moderate" I did watch it with some trepidation as members posted their comments or as I like to call it "state the bleedin' obvious" It has however now took on a more interesting life of it's own so I moved it. Pete S Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 (edited) ....and that concludes the case for the prosecution.... OK I'll at least try and explain why I don't like the Buddy Smith record, apart from the fact that it's so dull. It's the first line. He appears to be singing a word or words that nobody has actually invented for the first couple of seconds of the vocal. A record like Dusty Wilson - Going To Be A Tragedy, from the same time, same place, probably same musicians and taken at the same pace but so thrilling...we can't all like the same thing Edited February 7, 2013 by Pete S
