Constellation161 Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Did any of the records on the Jacklyn label ever get booted, if yes which ones and how to recognise one. Thanks in advance. Mick Perrins.
boba Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 The Paul Smith "I'll run" was booted for the Jamaican market. It's pretty obviously a boot, the font / paper looks wrong though. I don't think anything else on the label was booted.

boba Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 I only know of one Jacklyn label from Chicago. Is there a specific new york release you're thinking of that I might be forgetting? Thanks.

boba Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 No sorry I'm thinking of "Groovy" not Jacklyn probably easy to confuse since darrow fletcher was on both labels
Premium Stuff Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 I find the Detroit connecion to Darrow's work interesting. On Jacklyn there was "What Good Am I Without You" - Mike Terry etc. On Groovy there was "Gotta Draw The Line" which was a Solid Hitbound Production. Any others please? Cheers Richard
