Bo Diddley
just had a listen...is it me or does it skip? Yes, there's some sort of blip. Is it different to the issued version? If so, perhaps added on purpose? 1 Link to comment Social source share
Dobber
if you compare the acetate to the first press on karen its the same, even though the description on tb's says its different, however when compared to the later press on karen it is different. 1 Link to comment Social source share

Ahh..Is the one you describe in the "want" the first press? Doesn't seem to be loads about. I thought it was a big hit. Did it get popular on a "soon after" re-release/second issue? Also, which demo's are the first versions? Link to comment Social source share
Premium Stuff
This is the local Detroit press I believe - same kind of label as Sharon McMahan and the Gambrells - with an 803 prefix I have this variation and a few others but not my scan (lifted from internet). Dobber
i dont know much about other presses/runs....but it does seem as though the first presses of hello stranger seem to be same as the acetate mentioned, and later the version seems to clean and somehow loses that more diy feel about it. Dobber
this first press is the same as the acetate, and a much better rare soul sound about it. 1 Link to comment Social source share

Millo
I have just bought a copy of it for the cool jerk side. Thought I would flip it over and listen to the other side, what a fantastic track, I didn't know of it before. The copy I have has the two silver lines and sounds like a great version to me.
