Rich B Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) Personally I think Gil Elvgren is/was an artist with great vision....the tune was ok too. Edited January 30, 2013 by Rich B
Cunnie Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Nice version of a Cornel Campbell song. Here's the original version.
Godzilla Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 The Eternals is one of my all time top 20 45s. This pales in comparison.
Pete S Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 A few years ago I went to see Mick Smith at Wolverhampton record fair and of course he always gets to see everything before the public are let in, so I said did you find me any reggae and he showed me this one solitary blue Coxsone single, except the title and artist had been removed off the label, so I said any idea what it is? Knowing he knows absolutely nothing about reggae of course...anyway he says I can't sell it like that can I, play it and if you like it give us a fiver for it. It was of course a UK original of Queen Of The Minstrels, I managed to keep it for about 3 years I think. I've never seen another in the flesh and a tatty no centre wol copy is the only one I can find on Popsike - £300! Though that is surely the result of fake bidders bumping the price up. The B side, Stars, that's superb as well. 1
Ady Croasdell Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 It looks great, I ain't got any headphones to hear it so I've only played it twice.
TOAD Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 this is very poor i couldnt listen to it for more than a minute. Why do they bother covering tunes !
Steve L Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 The art work's great,....music is OK to listen to whilst you've got something to look at 2
Geoff Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Never heard this song before, but really like it, I'm not a big reggae fan to be honest, but both versions are good in different ways. Thanks for posting this..

Biggordy Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Very heavily influenced by Curtis Mayfield of course. He did a nice second cut for Bunny Lee circa 1973 titled "The Minstrel".
