Popular Post Pete S Posted January 26, 2013 Popular Post Posted January 26, 2013 Wasn't sure if I posted this live tape before or not but the discussion about Eddie Parker - I"m Gone, when it was played etc, it's on this tape at 30 minutes approximately. This tape is fantastic quality, though I prefer them with a bit more atmosphere. Me and Mr C were the only people from Wolverhampton who went this night and it was quite empty so we sat on the stage and I recorded this by putting the recorder on top of one of the speakers. https://www.mixcloud.com/mayfairmenthol/wigan-casino-live-15-10-1977-northern-soul/ 5
Zed1 Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Thanks for posting this Pete.... Easy to forget what it was like when you were hearing many of these tracks for the first time yet we're often told these were the 'Shite' years at Wigan... Could also add 'Hide and Seek' to the not heard since the club died thread.. 1

Could also add 'Hide and Seek' to the not heard since the club died thread.. No this was a great year, it was 78 when it went downhill - in my opinion anyway - the quality if stuff played in 76-77 was amazing, most of my favourites are from that period I think, things like Bernie Williams, Lillie Bryant, Kenny Smith, Lou Ragland, Tony Middelton, Pookie Hudson, Herbert Hunter and so on and so on
MrsWoodsrules Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Excellent Pete, sound quality is really good, love hearing dickies intro's, also the cover up names. My old tapes were always muffled or people talking over em. Great stuff indeed, got it pumping straight from my macbook into my system & blasting out of my speakers, sounds superb, could almost be back in the main hall.
Agentsmith Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 pete, is the second track in harley hatcher by any chance? 1
Harry Crosby Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 pete, is the second track in harley hatcher by any chance? Certainly is mate, was it SOUL HUSTLER?

Guest GARV Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Your a star Mr Smith, Genuinely Pete, these are important pieces of our history & IMO are far more representative of the Casino than the " This England " angle.
