Chalky Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 There's one on Discogs at $300...I think it's dollars. Pretty rare LP by all accounts.
NEV Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Was this post inspired by the Butch dj'n at Yarmuff thread by chance
jocko Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I was going to say after the Yarmouth thread twice as much as yesterday. I hate whoever raised that thread, I still don't have one.....

Jim Ohara Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I was going to say after the Yarmouth thread twice as much as yesterday. I hate whoever raised that thread, I still don't have one..... There used to be a few around Joc, but obviously gathering dust now in people's cupboards mate
Tony Smith Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 The prices are all over the place on this LP, though I think it will have jumped a bit this week!
Sunnysoul Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Always been in demand with the funk crowd as well ...
Jordirip Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 The prices are all over the place on this LP, though I think it will have jumped a bit this week! It's been £100 - £150 for the last 10+ years. It's never been easy. 3 killers on the LP. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2p6yBSj87k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CE6p2pbKn7Y.
Steve Plumb Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Even with LP's not fetching owt like they used to, this LP would fly out at £150 (even before the Butch thread!). I reckon it's worth £200+ (and no, i don't have one for sale!) Cheers Steve 1
Jim Ohara Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Bet you've got one coming though Steve! Lol Jim
Jim Ohara Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 The prices are all over the place on this LP, though I think it will have jumped a bit this week! Probably right tony that the price will have jumped this week Pity that it takes some people to possibly only start chasing it when Butch or another big name DJ plays it!!! What ever happened to DJ's with some imagination and balls??? They obviously weren't listening all those years ago when it was cheap!!!! 1
Steve Plumb Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Bet you've got one coming though Steve! Lol Jim How cynical James No, honest, none for sale and none coming (yet) Cheers Steve
Wiggyflat Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 My apologies ive done my own legs on Sammy Campbell
Popular Post Steve L Posted January 23, 2013 Popular Post Posted January 23, 2013 The "Butch's playing it I want one" = rise in price, is a well known phenomenon but if this causes a rise its taking things to a new level surely? " Butch played this 22years ago on radio at the yarmouth weekender" = rise in price?? 4
Barry Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 (edited) Jesus - I've had that for about thirty years, never knew it was worth a bob. Too Many Secrets is me fave. Edited January 23, 2013 by Barry
Barry Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 At that money, I'll be digging it out - keep yer eyes to the Sales thread
Dave Pinch Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 there was one in sales for £100 last year....now where was it
Barry Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 there was one in sales for £100 last year....now where was it Paid a quid for the one I got from Seeds in Birkenhead years back.
Chalky Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 As I said in post 2 there was one for $300 on Discogs.......it's now been sold. Just goes to show what a DJ was playing over 20 years ago still has an influence today. Even the sets more interesting than today.
Ncfc Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 there was one in sales for £100 last year....now where was it It was me ,sold it for £100
jocko Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 At that money, I'll be digging it out - keep yer eyes to the Sales thread Barrold you know what its like, everyone says its worth something but trying to sell it is a different proposition. I would say £30 tops, although since you are a mate I could stretch to £40 and some tins for the foodbank. You know what they say about charity begins .... Yours faithfully, A Chancer esq!

Haha - I've just found it - sleeves had it, split on three sides, bit rough - it's that God-awful thick cardboard nonsense they used to use but the inner notes and vinyl are spot on. Just flicked through it and can still sing 'em all.
Sjclement Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Paid a quid for the one I got from Seeds in Birkenhead years back. ouch! that hurts
Barry Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Again tough, I remember this album getting laughed at by my peers back then.
sepia Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 BIG H (harry batts) on here, sold one last year i think for £125. i didnt know it @ the time, had a listen & loved it. by the time i thought about pm'ing him,it was sold.
Guest BIG H Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Yeah i sold a promo copy for £100 on here, it took a while to sell tho believe it or not!
Chalky Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Yeah i sold a promo copy for £100 on here, it took a while to sell tho believe it or not! That's because they hadn't heard Butch play it on this tape.....the next crossover biggie
Paul McKay Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 You're right Chalky! I wasn't out and about back then, but had been collecting since the late 6ts and had never heard of the LP until I listened to the tape. I'm probably not the only one! 1
Chalky Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 The track was Andy Whitmore's Melvin Moore cover up. He tells me he sold Butch and John Corless the LP and they in turn came from Rod Shard.
Flanny Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Even with LP's not fetching owt like they used to, this LP would fly out at £150 (even before the Butch thread!). I reckon it's worth £200+ (and no, i don't have one for sale!) Cheers Steve now on a par with the optimistics on turbo which I NEED A COPY OF
georgeblackwell Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 No question that this is the rarest Soul LP on Brunswick and I have got the complete catalogue. Been playing "She'll never say it" and "I want to be your special man" occasionally at Soul nights in Jersey for about 12 years but alas the punters have never taken to it. Maybe I will dig it out again and spin it at Fitzy's Big Weekender over here in February (15th to 18th). I also think the promo is more common than the issue of this. Definitely deserves wider exposure but as in all things the rarity of the disc means most people have never even heard of it. Cheers Frosty 1
Guest Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Here it is complete with it's original inner-sleeve with picture of the group and their details.
Guest Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 now on a par with the optimistics on turbo which I NEED A COPY OF Yep, that's another goodie!
