Popular Post Pete S Posted January 22, 2013 Popular Post Posted January 22, 2013 (edited) The photo is brilliant I think - he's buying Otis Redding but look at the actual shop, and the records on the shelf behind the counter as well.. Edited January 22, 2013 by Pete S 4
Harry Crosby Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Great Photo Pete, looks a very tasty shop indeed
Bigsoulman Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Superb Pete! also the Tamla Motown album selection to his right, those were the days!, just waiting on a few nuts and bolts and the time machine will be ready!! Lenny
Shinehead Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Thats great ,but the strange thing is if i had been in the shop i would not have given a fu*k about the records i would just have wanted Eusebios autograph , i was only 11 at the time though, i assume it was the 66 World Cup.
Gene-r Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Great pic, but wouldn't the Club Ska '67 LP date this pic at 1967 at the earliest?
Pete S Posted January 22, 2013 Author Posted January 22, 2013 Great pic, but wouldn't the Club Ska '67 LP date this pic at 1967 at the earliest? Good point, maybe it's 1968 when Benfica played Man Utd? Couple of Sue LP's there as well I see and some Marble Arch Blues lp's on the wall?
Shinehead Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Great pic, but wouldn't the Club Ska '67 LP date this pic at 1967 at the earliest? He was ahead of his time
Pete S Posted January 22, 2013 Author Posted January 22, 2013 No it is 1968 and it's in Harlow, apparently
Bigsoulman Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 (edited) Ooops upload of a photo failed.. Edited January 22, 2013 by BIGSOULMAN
KevH Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Nice Pete.Merging two of my loves, football and soul music.
spot Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Great photo Pete, he looks like he's keeping an eye out for that Nobby Stiles fella who body checked him in the 1966 semi-final to stop him getting through to score, good old Nobby. Spot.
Mike Lofthouse Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Great picture Pete - thanks for posting. Dock Of The Bay came out in '68 - the first posthumous no 1 album - number one in the UK album charts June '68! I saw Eusebio play for Benfica in a friendly against Middlesbrough at Ayresome Park! Mike
Back Street Blue Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Good point, maybe it's 1968 when Benfica played Man Utd? Couple of Sue LP's there as well I see and some Marble Arch Blues lp's on the wall? Great picture of a legend. Think that Man Utd-v- Benfica Eurpopean cup final took place at Wembley, which would match with the date and him shopping in Harlow.
Steve Foran Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Wow how on earth do you find these things. Love it.
