slimharpo
Lonzine Cannon a she? This thread's weird man, I'm off. Funny you should say that. When I first had the record I'm referring to I though it was a male singer until I listened to the lyrics properly and realised she was singing about a man! Pete S
Why would anyone think Lonzine Cannon is a male singer???? Link to comment Social source share
slimharpo
Lonzine Cannon became lead singer with C & The Shells and had Good Morning Starshine released here on the Atlantic label in 1969. However, flip it over for the incredible soul track On Your Way Home written & produced by Jerry Williams. As I say back in my unenlightened youth I thought for a short period that it was a male tenor singing until as I say until I listened to the lyrics properly. Simsy
Why would anyone think Lonzine Cannon is a male singer???? I ALWAYS thought it was a geezer! Stone me, all these years.. Listening to it now and yep, though raucous I can see it's a woman. Northern Soul, tough old game.. Link to comment Social source share

I believe so although I THINK she was with the Sandpebbles before C & The Shells. 'Love Power' definitely sounds like her. Link to comment Social source share
