I listed one of these today ALFIE KAHN SOUND ORCHESTRA - LAW OF THE LAND - ATLANTIC DEMO it's a same both sides demo copy, blue label, I swear I've never seen one of these in my life and someone else just said the same thing to me - I know there's no demand for it but does anyone else think it's a tough demo to find?

I bought mine from JM for £8 last year.....and it's still brilliant imho!!! It was massive in 1976....my first visit to WC...must have been played every hour or so!!!

Cheap as Chips!!! (or JM was feeling generous  )

I think it's about time 'Alfie' was played out a bit more  .........in fact the promo is probably better...not too long...

On the 'rarity' subject....took me ages to find an original 'Mr Flood's Party' on GM even though it was cheap...still hard to find.

Thus...mathematical formula as follows:-

('Not in Demand' + rare + inexpensive)

produces a greater degree of difficulty quotient than

('In Demand' + rare + expensive)

Yeah....okay....I should get out more!!! :sleep3:

picked one up in new york about 18 months ago,50 cent, got it out and played it when you mentioned it being scarce, also a picture of the demo in "the wigan casino years book", hopefully your comment has added a couple of quid onto its value , it is a cracking record , of the 70s disco sounds played in northern clubs, this is in the top flight ( in my opinion)

It's not often that Pete's 400% over the standard price is it?

To be fair, only two say they are promos, one says red and black, the other says nothing...

I have to reiterate that I was only pointing out that I, Me, had never seen one, not that they didn't exist or where the worlds rarest record.

No doubt I"ve had records a few times that other people have never clapped eyes upon.

I'm sure Pete. I actually collect 70's promos so I've seen a few Alfie Khan's in my time. I've got some titles that I've never seen another copy of too.

Also Discogs violate listings regularly if they're not the item that's listed, so those 4 are probably kosher. I'm usually pushed for time so if no one's listed a promo I'll often list one under the issue and put that it's a promo in the comments section. So I currently have around 220 removed records which are all promos which have yet to be listed on Discogs at all, so presumably they must be the rare ones.......

I sold a Luther Vandross Atlantic double-sided promo of a 'B' side today for £50 to a Japanese collector, so there are some serious 70's promo collectors out there. I love 70's Atlantic promos. I think I've bought every one I've ever seen LOL....

No way, thats the sort of thing I throw away. Useless 70's promos. I'll start saving them for you!
