Guest Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Hi there, could anyone help me with artist/titles/labels/current values of the following lyrics? "when you work in the fields, well you just gotta follow the sun......." "well don't give all your love, to just one woman, 'cos if you do you know you're gonna get put down, and you'll be picking up broken eggs up off the ground"! "you say that i remind you, of the one you left behind you, if i can't be something new, well i guess i just wont do, baby" "i...i want....i want you..........i want you to...........i want you to please! want you to be my baby"! "treat me, treat me,treat me.....treat me like a man now"! thanks, Carl
Gene-r Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 (edited) "i...i want....i want you..........i want you to...........i want you to please! want you to be my baby"! "I Want You To Be My Baby" Billie Davis (UK Decca) £5 Originally recorded by Ellie Greenwich*, but don't know anything about 45 releases for this. * = no it wasn't! See my next post below............. Edited April 27, 2006 by Gene-R
Pete S Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 The second one is The All Night Workers (rumoured to feature Lou Reed) with Don't Put All Your Eggs In One Basket. The last one is Trick me Treat me by Cobblestone.
Gene-r Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 No probs - actually, the "I Want You To Be My Baby" story is more intricate than thought! (vocal: Jim Brown) - 1955 Ellie Greenwich - 1968 Billie Davis - 1968 Jump With Joey - 1989 Dana Gillespie & Joachim Palden - 1990 Bombay Jim & The Swinging Sapphires - 2000 Linda & The Big King Jive Daddies - 2000 Janis Siegel - 2001 Also recorded by: Rebecca Kilgore; Gia Maione; Kevin Mark; The Comets; Mitch Woods & His Rocket 88's: ......... and others.
