Carole P Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 My tip for this year is Lady-Money-Truth & Soul records, due March/April sometime on 7".Same label as Lee Fields. Is available now on the Brownswood 9 comp.Is on youtube, but don't how to load it on here. Best Carole 1
Tim Smithers Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Here is one that has been around in the smaller clubs for a while, think with the reation it gets, its primed for a bigger arena this year Roy Roberts Experiance / Bee Hive https://youtu.be/Nn64bJ-l7Ow 2
Len Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Fair enough, but if they'd stick a couple words on when they post Youtube clips, for those of us firewalled, I'd have seen it... Nevertheless, it's a cracker I hope I didn’t come across as some Soul-source anal expert, I thought you would want to know as I would if I’d made such a ‘catastrophic’ error I to made a mistake once (Not sure what this icon means, but it's a rare one) All the best, Len P.s — Ref above folks, write down the titles of clips posted.
Guest Andy Kempster Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 been a tape swap record for years and years but probably broke thru in 2012 we used to play this at hitchin about 7/8 years ago
Ian Seaman Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 does anyone play Sherlock Holmes - What an argument ?? or has it ever been played out ??, seen it on loads of lists lately as a top tip ?? or what about one of my in house faves Edwin Starr - Don't it feel good to be free ?, superb track Ian.
Tony Smith Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 John - didn't this have two label variations - one on yellow power pac and another design? Rare (and brill) record by all accounts. See my post 3 above yours!
Tony Smith Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Got put onto this cracking old skool 60's dancer by Gloucester's finest recently - old Rob Marriott c/u apparently. Would be good to see it take off again - although think someone told me it's had plays in Burnley or somewhere similar recently? One I used to play aswell c/u as The Coasters, had it stolen from me at the 100 club, many moons ago, the label had a distinctive tear on the flip! 1

I've made bigger ones--I'm married. Any way another to lookout for that sounds awesome out loud Le Tre Femme-Open Up The safe-Uptight-or 20th Century Can't find on Youtube, but it's well worth a listen. 1
Corbett80 Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 One I used to play aswell c/u as The Coasters, had it stolen from me at the 100 club, many moons ago, the label had a distinctive tear on the flip! Top work Tony! Was the culprit ever caught? Bet it was Ady. He's alway loitering with intent.

Mister Fish Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 (edited) Still under the radar; Unique-Here We Go Again-Col-La-Soul Enchanted Five-Have You Ever-CVS, maybe starting to get noticed Kev Took me a long time to get that 'Unique' 45 not really a dancer but a lovely mid-tempo tune. Pat Bleasdale Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 (edited) Well I know this used to played many moons ago and to be honest don't know if it still is but to me one of my old faves. Now if it still gets played out I'll shut the f*ck up but this loud is awesome IMHO MIKE JEMISON - I WANT SOME SATISFACTION - GENEVA - Cheap as chips ! Got duped a bit on this when I first got it (new release? I swapped it for the other side - QUICK CHANGE ARTIST Doh!) won't tell you what I swapped it for Cheers Swifty Indeed a great sound Swifty and think it was played at Move On in Coventry at some time. Mister Fish Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 A few mid-tempo things that I reckon could get plays this year; Double Trouble - To live is to love (Pilot Master) Indigos - Rest of my days (Wildfire) Cooperettes - Win all your love (I-D-B) Caesars - I've got to know (Both Sides) looking for a clean copy of this btw! Emanuel Lasky - Just the way (i want her to be) (Music Now) Elements - Hey lady (saru) A little more up-tempo; Benny Hall - Your love got healing power (Mammoth) 1
Jordirip Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Took me a long time to get that 'Unique' 45 not really a dancer but a lovely mid-tempo tune. Yep, great tune but it used to get a lot of plays in the Crossover rooms in the 90's and 2k's.
Corbett80 Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Indigos is great Steve - is that Caesars on the Doc Peabody label??
Mister Fish Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 (edited) Indigos is great Steve - is that Caesars on the Doc Peabody label?? Don't know. Doesn't have the same logo and there's very little info the label. Edited January 11, 2013 by Mister Fish

Tony Smith Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Top work Tony! Was the culprit ever caught? Bet it was Ady. He's alway loitering with intent. No the culprit was never caught or, my records found
Docfish Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Indigos is great Steve - is that Caesars on the Doc Peabody label?? The Caesars is out of St. Louis, produced by Oliver Sain. Doc Peabody is Ohio. Great record that Caesars, but piss poor soundquality. 2

paultp Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 I might get shouted down for this as when I asked about it last year or so I was told it was a cheap oldie, and sure enough it was a very easy find. So it has probably been getting plays everywhere for the last 4 decades but I'd never heard it and it "sounds just right for today" as they say. Johnny Moore - Call It What You Wanna - Chi-City 1
